چکیده

The synergistic effects of two contaminating mycotoxins aflatoxin (AF) and T-2 toxin (T-2) in the feed of poultry on the performance of broiler chickens were studied individually and in combination, by using one hundred and sixty eight day-old commercial broiler chicks obtained from a commercial hatchery and randomly separated into four groups in 2X2 Complete Randomized Design of three replicates and fourteen chicks per replicate, with dietary treatments of 0.0 (control), 0.5μg/g AF, 2.0μg/g T-2 and their combination (0.5 μg/g AF+2.0 μg/g T-2). The chicks were housed in deep litter independent conventional system with feed and water ad libitum throughout the experimental study. The toxin treated birds exhibited a significant (P 0.05) decrease in total serum protein, albumin and uric acid. The serum alanine amino transferase (ALT) levels were decreased and antibody titers against Newcastle disease (ND) and Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD) were also decreased significantly (P 0.05). These findings were more severe in the combined group of AF and T-2. Results indicated that the presence of AF and T-2 in the diet may have a very severe synergistic effect on these measured factors of the commercial chicks.

Effects of zinc oxide nanoparticles on antioxidant status, serum enzymes activities, biochemical parameters and performance in broiler chickens

This research was conducted to investigate the effect of zinc oxide Nanoparticles (nano-ZnO) in diets on the performance, antioxidant status, enzymes activity and some hematological parameters of broiler chickens. A total of 600 one–day-old male Ross 308 broilers were allocated to four treatment groups with five replications of 30 each from day 1 to 42 day of age. The birds were continuously di...

Protective Effects of Bacillus sp. MBIA2.40 and Gallipro on Growth Performance, Immune Status, Gut Morphology and Serum Biochemistry of Broiler Chickens Feeding by Aflatoxin B1

A total of 540 one-day old male broilers Ross 308 were allocated to 6 treatments in a completely randomized designed with a 2×3 factorial arrangement (aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) and probiotics) with 6 replicates and 15 birds in each. Factors include aflatoxin B1 (control, 500 ppb) and probiotics (control, 108 cfu/mL Bacillus sp. MBIA2.40, 0.2 g Gallipro per kg). Results showed that adding 500 ppb AFB1...

Mycotoxin interactions in poultry and swine.

Mycotoxins are toxic compounds produced by fungi. When one mycotoxin is detected, one should suspect that others also are present in a contaminated feed ingredient or finished feeds. The toxicity and clinical signs of observed in animals when more than one mycotoxin is present in feed are complex and diverse. Some mycotoxins, such as the combination of aflatoxin with either ochratoxin A or T-2 ...

Esterified-Glucomannan in Broiler Chicken Diets-Contaminated with Aflatoxin, Ochratoxin and T-2 Toxin: Evaluation of its Binding Ability (in vitro) and Efficacy as Immunomodulator**

In vitro binding efficacy of esterified glucomannan (E-GM) (0.1%) on aflatoxin B1 (AF) (300 ppb), ochratoxin A (OA) (2 ppm) and T-2 toxin (T-2) (3 ppm), when present alone or in combination, was evaluated in toxin-contaminated feed at pH 4.5 and 6.5. Esterified glucomannan showed significantly (p<0.01) higher binding with AF (81.6%), whereas those recorded with T-2 (27.8%) and OA (25.6%) were m...
